Wedding Ceremony

The wedding ceremony will be held in the Knights' Hall of the Bouzov Castle in Northern Moravia, a region where the bride comes from.

Since the bride and groom do not share the same religion, the ceremony will be non-religious and will probably be performed by the Mayor of Bouzov.  An interpreter will be present to translate from Czech to English.  The actual ceremony will last approximately 30 minutes.

Please go to Wedding Weekend to find information about the weekend schedule, places to see in the area, accommodation, weather, etc.

  The Bouzov Castle

The Bouzov Castle is located approximately 150 miles east of Prague.  It was built at the beginning of the 14th century and has changed hands many times throughout the past.  It has been owned by nobility, including the Czech king George of Podebrady in the 15th century, the Order of German Knights (from the end of the 17th century until 1939), Germany (during World War II), and various Czech state institutions (since 1945).

The castle was rebuilt by the Habsburg dynasty in the years 1895 - 1910 and the result was an impressive and sensitive mixture of several different architectural styles (particularly gothic and renaissance), while the monumental, medieval look of the castle was preserved.

Bouzov is a popular location for filming fairy tales.  It has recently been restored and opened to the public.  Details on tours are provided on Wedding Weekend.
